Pillow Talk (The Pillow Library), Installation, 2014

The artist gifted 15 initial participants each with a new pillow to sleep on for a week. Participants recorded their experiences and the pillows gathered impressions of their sleepers: scents, dreams, recollections of lovers, and memories of restless nights. The pillows were then displayed and visitors were invited to read the archives of each sleeper and become members of the library. Members of the library are sent a random pillow from the collection, to be borrowed for up to one month, and invited to record their own experiences with the pillow to contribute to the library catalogue. Membership is still open. Contact the artist if you wish to become a member.

Materials: 15 pillows, index cards, velvet ribbon, postage, mailing materials, clothesline, clothespins

Dimensions: variable (displayed on clothesline)

The Bed Library, proposal, 2014

The sister project of The Pillow Library (Pillow Talk), this is a yet-unrealized proposal for a library whose members borrow beds of artistic and historical renown, as well as of strangers, former lovers, and family.
